The Local Scholarship Application Window will open in January. As local sponsors confirm their scholarships we will post them below but you will not be able to apply until January.
We will continue to post scholarship information for any Area, State & National Scholarships as they come in, so please check back regularly as their deadlines vary.

on the RH side of the information to get a drop down list. The appearance of scholarships will also depend on how many are available at a given time. If there are fewer than 3 offerings at the time they may show as a tab format requiring you to click on the Tab of the Scholarship you want to view.
River Valley Local Scholarships
American Players Theatre
- Available to any high school senior interested in pursuing a career in the arts or English education OR any employee of APT regardless of career interest
- Selected by APT
Arcadia Books Scholarship
- Any student pursuing higher education is eligible.
- Must answer supplemental question: Please tell us about a book that has made an impact on your life and why?
Arcadia Books will select recipient.
Betty Jean Wastlick Memorial Scholarship
- This scholarship will be given out to a student that is planning on attending a 4 year university who will be majoring in Education.
- Students who are applying to be a recipient of this scholarship must provide the following information: GPA (Must be 3.0 or higher). A list of extracurricular activities. A 2-4 page essay about what is your dream teaching job.
- Include in your essay:
- A )Was there a teacher who inspired you to pursue a degree in education, and how will you implement that in your classroom.
- B) What are some characteristics of your community that you hope to bring with you as you continue your educational journey, and how you will find ways to help give to those around you. (this could be in volunteer, support, actions, etc.)
- Selected by the RVHS Local Scholarship Committee.
Harold and Eileen Price Agricultural & Educational Memorial
- Graduating senior who demonstrates financial need.
- The student must be embarking on a course of study leading to on occupation in the areas of agriculture and/or education and will be accepted for admission to an institution of higher education.
- If going into the agriculture field, the student must have taken at least 2 agriculture classes while in high school.
- Attach a letter of recommendation.
- DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET THE CRITERIA (major is a significant emphasis for this award).
- Selected by the Price family.
Pamela Brander & Ian J. Brander Memorial Scholarship
- One scholarship will be given to a student going into something in the History/Political Science field or something in Education
- One Scholarship will be given to a student entering a trades field at a tech school
- Student must attach letter of recommendation.
- Must provide Proof of Enrollment
- Student must answer the supplemental Question: Describe your financial need and detail relevant information about your financial situation. Why do you need this scholarship?
- Winners selected by the Brander family
Jewell Associates Engineers, Inc. Scholarship
- Must be pursuing post-secondary education in civil engineering, architecture, or surveying fields.
- Provide proof of full-time enrollment at any accredited 2 or 4 year institution
- Selected by Jewell Associates Scholarship Committee
John H. and Florentine Ruhland Memorial Scholarship
- The John H. and Florentine Ruhland Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a River Valley High School graduate in good academic standing and is enrolled in a technical diploma or associate degree program in the School of Technologies and Trades (Program Area of Studies in Construction, Manufacturing, and Maintenance) at Madison (Area Technical) College.
- Selected by River Valley Scholarship Committee
Joseph William Thering Music Scholarship
- Graduating senior who will be pursuing a post secondary school in the field of music (first preference).
- Must have been in music all four years of high school.
- Preference given to percussion student. Attachment listing what music you have been involved in and what instrument(s) you play.
- Selected by the Thering family.
Kraemer Brothers Scholarship (4-Year College/University)
- Graduating senior who has been accepted in post-secondary four-year program. High motivation for learning, achieving, and pursuing a chosen career field is important, but not the sole determining factor. Financial need is important, but not the sole determining factor.
- Please attach a letter of recommendation
- Selected by RVHS Scholarship Committee.
Kraemer Brothers Trades Scholarship (2-Year Technical College)
- Student who has a strong desire to pursue masonry, carpentry, iron work, or construction technology. High motivation for learning, achieving, and leadership in one of these trades. Good attendance, academics, and extra-curricular activities are beneficial.
- An interview with a Kraemer Brother representative may be required prior to the selection of the scholarship recipient.
- Please attach a letter of recommendation.
- Selected by Kraemer Brothers.
Kraemer North America Scholarship
- Graduating senior who has been accepted into a post-secondary, four-year program.
- Preference given to student in need of financial assistance.
- Selected by River Valley High School Scholarship Committee.
Lone Rock Historical Society Scholarship
- Must have a Lone Rock address. Must attend a college/university in Wisconsin.
- Emphasis on volunteerism/community involvement.
- Answer Supplemental Question: What does Lone Rock me to you?
- Selected by Lone Rock Historical Society Committee.
Mary Jones Memorial Scholarship
- Student must have completed - Accounting I class.
- Student must be intending to major in a business-related field at a 2- or 4-year college/university.
- Answer the supplemental question: Why are you choosing to study Accounting or Business in college?
- The scholarship will be paid out upon submitting proof of enrollment to post-secondary school.
- Selected by the Mary Jones Fireworks Board of Directors.
Mike Mahoney Memorial Scholarship
- Senior who is part of the wrestling program (wrestler or cheerleader).Good standing academically. Going to attend a two or four year institution. Financial need is a factor.
- *Must Answer Supplemental Question - How has the wrestling program prepared you for the future?
- Selected by the Mike Mahoney family.
Plain Lions Scholarship
- Graduating senior who is planning on attending a two- or four-year college/university or a technical school. Applicant must have primary residence within the Village of Plain and/or Town of Franklin.
- Financial need.
- Ideally, scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female. Emphasis will be on community service and worthiness.
- Must include essay : Why you feel you should be awarded the scholarship and one way you plan to pay it forward if you receive the scholarship.
- Scholarship will be paid at the end of the first semester with proof of grades with a GPA of 2.00 or better.
- Selected by River Valley Scholarship Committee.
Prem Meats Smoke in the Valley Scholarship
- Proof of acceptance to post-secondary education.
- Preference may be given to students pursuing Animal Science, Culinary or Food Science degrees.
- Recipient chosen by Prem Meats committee.
Randy Diehl Memorial Scholarship
- One Scholarship is open-ended for any 2 year degree.
- Submit a Letter of Recommendation
- Also maintaining a 2.1 GPA
River Valley Elementary P.T.O. Scholarship
- A graduating senior who attended Arena, Plain, Lone Rock or Spring Green Elementary Schools
- Attending a technical college or a two- or four-year college.
- Must answer supplemental question: What was your most memorable experience from your elementary years at one of the River Valley Elementary Schools?
- Selected by the River Valley Elementary P.T.O.
River Valley Music Boosters Scholarship
- Applicant must have been a member of the RVHS band and/or choir all four years of high school.
- Answer the supplemental question: What has music meant to you throughout High School?
- Selected by River Valley Music Boosters.
River Valley Scholarship for Aspiring Veterinarians
- This scholarship is targeted towards a graduating senior who will be attending a post secondary program of study with the intent of becoming a veterinarian. Award of scholarship will primarily be based on review of applicants statement of interest. The selected applicant will receive their award upon providing proof of completion of the fall 2026 semester while attaining at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Must Provide a statement of interest indicating why you wish to become a veterinarian, and what activities have you pursued to prepare you for this field of study. Please limit your statement to 1 page or less.
Rural Musicians Forum Music Award
- This scholarship will only be given to an outstanding musician or performer who is planning on attending a secondary school with an emphasis on a music and/or theater major or minor.
- Selected by Rural Musicians Forum committee.
Spring Green American Legion & Auxiliary - Post 253
- Graduating senior who is going on to a post-secondary school.
- Good citizen who follows the law. Has shown patriotism and loyalty to school, community and country.
- Preference will be given to a student having a parent, grandparent or relative who has been a member of the Spring Green American Legion or Legion Auxiliary. Affiliation must be documented in the scholarship application. Please provide proof of relation and post number.
- Student should have a Village of Spring Green or Spring Green Township mailing address.
- Must provide proof of acceptance.
- Selected by Spring Green American Legion.
Spring Green Arts & Crafts Fair Scholarship
- Students must be entering a 2-year or 4-year degree program.
- The scholarship is open to students pursuing a degree in a program including, but not limited to, Performance or Visual Arts, Art or Music Education, Architecture or Graphic Design.
- The scholarship will be presented at the beginning of the student’s sophomore year of college.
- Must answer supplemental question: How has art influenced or impacted your life?
- Selected by the Spring Green Arts & Crafts Fair committee.
Spring Green Fire & EMS Scholarship
- A graduating senior who is a resident of the Spring Green Fire Protection District (Must live in Village of Spring Green, Town of Spring Green or Town of Wyoming)
- Payment will be made after completion of first semester and proof of enrollment for second semester.
St. John the Evangelist Honor Award
- Must have graduated from St. John the Evangelist Catholic School.
- Must answer supplemental question: 1. How did your time at St. John’s shape your values or interests, and how have those lessons influenced your academic or personal journey so far?
St. Luke's - Rita Werla Scholarship
- Must be an 8th grade graduate of St. Luke’s - Plain.
- Must be going into some type of education.
- Selected by St. Luke’s Committee.
LaVerne Sneath Memorial Scholarship
- Scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a degree in education or a degree in agriculture.
- Award will be paid out after proof of registration/enrollment. We request that the recipient provide proof of registration and/or payment. The proof must be received by us by Sept. 1 to receive payment.
- Selected by the LaVerne Sneath Memorial Scholarship Committee.
Village Family Dental
- A student interested in a career related to the Medical/Dental Field.
- Selected by Village Family Dental.
Westbrook Associated Engineers, Inc. Scholarship
- Graduate from River Valley, Dodgeville, Iowa-Grant, Ithaca, Richland, or Riverdale. Planned entry or eligibility for entry into a full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university with a declared major of Civil Engineering.
- Submit high school transcript with application.
- Provide a list of extra curriculars you participated in thorugh school, community, church, groups, ect.
- Answer the supplemental questions: As a small-town design firm, rural infrastructure is a key component of our identity. Tell about your appreciation or interest in rural civil engineering projects. AND What are your future plans and career goals?
- Applicants must complete the Westrbook Associated Engineers Scholarhip Application along with the RVHS Local Scholarship Application.

William, Judine & Mary Hutter Scholarship
- High School senior who will attending a two year or four year college/university or tech school. Student must be attending school the following year. Gap years will make you ineligible for this scholarship.
- Answer the supplemental question: The phrase it takes a village to raise a child. Has this been true in your life? if so, how?
- Must Submit ACT Score
- Selected by the Hutter Family
Wisconsin Riverside Resort Scholarship
1. Must be a current employee of Wisconsin Riverside Resort.
2. Been an active employee for at least one year.
3. Must be a graduating River Valley High School or a local High School senior attending on a full time basis.
4. Must have applied to and been accepted at a technical college, trade school or university.
5. Must answer the supplemental question: What are three key components that you have learned from working at Wisconsin Riverside?
6. Submit a letter of recommendation.

Area, State & National Scholarships
Hagan Scholarship
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides $2,000 to help pay for essential items to attend college and up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Hagan Scholars have attended 745 colleges and universities located in 50 states and the District of Columbia and have studied abroad in 58 countries.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Must attend a high school located in the United States.
2. All high school students eligible regardless of nationality.
3. Must be fluent in the English language.
4. Must be in the high school graduating class.
5. Must have achieved an unweighted 3.50 CGPA based on a 4.0 Grading Scale.
6. Must enroll in an eligible four-year College or University the first fall semester following high school graduation.
7. The scholarship cannot be used to attend a community college, junior college, or online institution.
8. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule, or complete the equivalent of a four year degree if in a professional program.
9. Must work 240 hours from January 1, 2026 until September 1, 2026. Work must be regularly scheduled employment performed under supervision for compensation. Employment can be full-time or part-time.
10. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2024 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total income received by all adult members of a household living under the same roof.
11. Applicants are not required to provide FAFSA information.
a. U.S. Citizens selected as Finalists must provide the FAFSA Summary showing the SAI.
b. Non U.S. Citizens selected as Finalists must provide Proof of non-U.S. Citizenship.
12. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
Engineers Foundation of Wisconsin
The Engineering Foundation of Wisconsin Scholarship
4 Scholarships, of $3,000 each
The Louis C Geiger Scholarship
3 Scholarships of $3,000 each.
The Terry Ni Engineering Scholarship
1 to 6 Scholarships at a minimum of $3,000 each.
The Robert G. Cooper Scholarship
1 Scholarship of $3,000.
